Italian Sub Sandwich

Italian Sub Sandwich

Homemade Pizza Dough
Serves 6
A homemade pizza dough that I promise you can make.

Prep Time 3 hr Cook Time 20 min Total Time 4 hr
Ingredients
5 cups all purpose flour
2 packages active dry yeast
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp olive oil, divided
2 tsp salt
2 cups water, warm

Instructions
In a stand mixer with the hook attachment pour in the warm water, yeast, sugar & 1 tbsp. olive oil.
Allow to sit until the yeast begins to foam (about 5 minutes)
Add flour & salt and mix until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the side of the bowl.
Drizzle half of the remaining olive oil over the top of the dough
Turn the dough over in the mixing bowl and cover with a clean tea towel and allow to rise to approximately twice it's size (about a hour) - I placed mine in my laundry room where the dryer was running
Punch the dough down and roll out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead for 3-4 minutes
Place back into a bowl and drizzle with remaining olive oil
Turn over in bowl
Cover again and allow to rise a second time.
After another hour or so, punch down again and now it is ready to use.
You can either roll out your dough now or separate into 3-4 balls and wrap in plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator to use later or freeze.

* We made 4 thin-crust pizzas yielding 36 slices
--To make pizza--
Preheat oven and pizza stone or cookie sheet to 500
Remove stone or cookie sheet and sprinkle a little corn meal over the pan and place rolled out dough on pan
Assemble pizza
Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is browned and cheese is bubbly

Each slice of crust is 2 WW+ points - Add points for the topping you choose

2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, 4 Tbsp. Roasted Red Pepper relish, 1/2 cup cheddar blend shredded cheese, 1 cup shredded chicken, 1/2 cup chopped hard salami, 1 cup shredded cheese - 6 WW+ points per slice
